The Gift Trust has launched a new charity fund-holding service, The Gift Collective, in partnership with Open Collective NZ. The Gift Collective helps charitable initiatives to get up and running quickly—ready to receive philanthropic grants, provide donation tax receipts, and disburse funds for expenses—without getting bogged down in paperwork. You’ll get the benefits of operating through a registered charitable trust, without having to create one.
The Gift Collective is also a solution for funders who want to fund unincorporated groups through our expert vetting process, automatic reporting, and transparent budget tracking.
Since launching we’ve already facilitated donations of over $80,000 to 5 charitable projects that were looking for a ‘home’. The projects are diverse and include documentary film-makers Happen Films who make films about solutions to the environmental and climate crisis, Tiwaiwaka who bring a Te Ao Maori perspective on health and the healing benefits of the whenua, and Digital Native Academy which is educating and connecting the next generation of digital leaders in Rotorua.
If you know of an entity doing good work that is charitable but lacks formal legal status, get in touch, we’d love to help them to make more impact.
