Collaborative Giving Funds

Giving is even more powerful when it’s done together. Our Collaborative Funds let you gather friends, family, colleagues, or a wider community to support a shared cause. You choose the focus, we set up the fund, and your community can contribute online, building a collective impact that grows over time.

Why Choose a Collaborative Fund?

Build a Movement

Rally others around the causes you care about most.

Create a Hub for Giving

Your fund has its own public-facing donation page.

Engage Your Community

Invite one-off or recurring donations from anyone, anywhere.

Stay in Control

You (as the account holder) decide which charities receive funding recommendations.

How It Works

Open a Gift Account, and indicate on your application form that you’d like to create a collaborative fund. You’ll receive your own public donation page that you can share with your community, so they can give easily. For an additional fee, we can build a landing page with your branding that tells your fund’s story.

You can give your donors the option to choose a charity to receive their donation, from a list you choose. We can help you find great charities that your donors will love.

With our online giving portal, you can see the donations that have come in, and recommend gifts to charities. We’ll handle the rest, and let you know when your gifts have been processed.

Costs & Setup

Additional setup fees apply for collaborative funds and branded pages. We’ll discuss options with you before getting started.

Case study: High Impact Athletes

High Impact Athletes was created by two New Zealand Olympians, Marcus Daniell and Hugo Inglis, and has built a global community of athletes behind a mission to improve global health, alleviate poverty and climate change, and support animal welfare. Donors can choose from a range of vetted charities, or support HIA’s pooled Maximum Good Portfolio.
HIA has chosen to build its own website in addition to their collaborative fund page, offering more information about their donors and their work, and broadening their reach.

Case study: Net Zero Fund

The Carbon Critical team launched their Net Zero Fund in 2020 to help donors support global organisations that are making a massive impact towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and avoiding a future devastated by climate change.
Promoting the Fund through their professional networks as climate activists and problem-solvers, the Carbon Critical team have built a growing group of recurring donors. They’ve chosen a unique collection of organisations to support, including local organisations like Lawyers for Climate Action NZ and Generation Zero, and international charities like Coalition for Rainforest Nations and Clean Air Task Force.
