It’s the end of an era at The Gift Trust and the start of a new phase as we farewelled our founding Chairman Glen Saunders last week from his role and welcomed Phil McKinstry as our new Chair.
Glen founded The Gift Trust in 2009 with the vision of providing a service to donors in New Zealand who needed support with their giving strategy. The idea for The Gift Trust came from a wonderfully generous family who immigrated to New Zealand from the US and wanted to set up a charitable fund to give to causes they cared about, but to stay anonymous as they were very humble. They wanted an independent ‘donor-advised-fund’ in NZ and found that there wasn’t a national version here. Glen took this vision and turned it into reality and these donors are still with us today and have seen their vision spread to many other donors. You can read more about our founding story here.
Thank you Glen for your stewardship and vision in setting up The Gift Trust and getting us to where we are today. We wish you well on your next journey!
